Rudolph Schmidt

A funeral service, celebrating the life of Rudolph L. Schmidt, 80, of Millersport, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, October 6, 2017. Burial will follow in Millersport Cemetery.He died suddenly on September 28, 2017 at his home. He was born February 27, 1937, in Middletown, N.J., the son of the late Gustave and Carolyn Schmidt. He served honorably in the Merchant Marines, and retired from the Ohio Printing Company. He was a member of the VFW and Eagles at Buckeye Lake. In his retirement, he also worked at A-1 auto parts in Buckeye Lake.He is survived by his daughter Peggy Thompson, and his son Benjamin of Columbus, along with many friends.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughters Jacqueline, Kimberly and DeAnne.Friends may call on Friday morning from 11:00 a.m. until time of funeral services at 1:00 p.m., with Rev. Fr. Michael Gribble officiating. A life celebration reception will follow at the Island House, Lieb's Island, Millersport for all friends and family.Memorials may be directed to the Fairfield County Humane Society, 1721 Granville Pike, Lancaster, Ohio 43130.
