A funeral service celebrating the life of Ruie Clayton Stuart, 83, of Hopewell, will be held on Wednesday, September 15, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. at Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral and Cremation Service. Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery in Glenford. Visitation will be held at the funeral home, 179 Granville Street, Newark, on Tuesday, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Ruie was born in New York City, NY on September 3, 1938 to the late Wilbert and Helen (Cochran) Stuart. He passed away at Licking Memorial Hospital on September 11, 2021. Ruie proudly served his country in the United States Army. Prior to retirement, he was a supervisor at Nationwide Children’s Hospital for over 35 years. He enjoyed motorcycle riding, horseback riding, tinkering around his farm and spending time with his family and friends. Survivors include his loving wife of 59 years, Janice F. Stuart, whom he married January 6, 1961; sons, Dave (Pam) Stuart and Quint Stuart; brothers, Niles Stuart, Dan (Phyliss) Stuart and Murray Stuart; grandchildren, Rae Stuart, Cory Stuart, Chris Stuart and Michelle (A.J.) Frick; great grandchildren, Brooklyn Stuart, Brad Stuart, Julien Stuart, Josslyne Stuart, Korbyn Frick and Lyam Frick; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
