Russell Lee Bowlby

A memorial service celebrating the life of Russell Lee Bowlby, age 58, of Newark, will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, April 27, at the Newark Nazarene Church, 200 South Williams Street, Newark, with Pastor Cheryl Simpson officiating.

Russell was born September 7, 1964 in Columbus, Ohio to the late Joseph Russell and Nancy Louise (Arbogast) Bowlby. He passed away on Thursday, April 20, 2023 at the Arlington Care Center.

Russell was a 1983 graduate of Licking Valley High School and was formerly employed in apartment maintenance. He was a member of the Deathwind Long Rifles and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and coaching baseball.

Russell is survived by two daughters, Deanna M. (Randy) Houston of Zanesville and Brittney L. (Chris) Jones of St. Louisville; grandchildren, Lane Houston, Kate Houston, Wes Houston, Gavin Jones, Aubrey Jones, and Teddy Jones; brothers, Douglas (Patricia) Bowlby and James Bowlby, all of Newark; sister, Kimberly Bowlby (James Johnson) of Heath; an uncle, Jim Bowlby of Stockport; and nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Kira Davis.
