A funeral service, celebrating the life of Russell E. Cameron, 58, of Buckeye Lake, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, October 9, 2015 in the chapel of the Kirkersville home of HOSKINSON Funeral and Cremation Service.Russ died Tuesday morning, October 6, 2015 at his parents home in Buckeye Lake, after a life long battle with Diabetes and Kidney disease. He was born in Chillicothe on April 8, 1957, the son of Russell and Harriet (Holzapfel) Cameron of Buckeye Lake.He was a graduate of Walnut Ridge H.S., class of 1975, was a self-employed contractor, and enjoyed OSU Buckeye football, Harley Davidson motorcycles and Corvettes. He also enjoyed spending time boating and relaxing on Buckeye Lake.In addition to his parents, he is survived by his sisters Carol (David) Tolbert of Lancaster, Cheryl (Travis) Large of Buckeye Lake, nephews Shawn (Noelle) Tolbert, Nick Tolbert (Greg Barton), Randall (Amy) Williams, Evan (Taylor) Williams, great nieces and nephew Caitlin, Morgan, Kamryn and Tripp; along with many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He is also survived by his dog Gertie and his two kitties.The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 8, 2015 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. and also on Friday from 11:00 a.m. until services at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home, 285 E. Main St. in Kirkersville.The family prefers that memorials be directed to the Diabetes Foundation or the Kidney Foundation in his memory.
