Ruth Ann Dailey

A funeral service celebrating the life of Ruth Ann Dailey, age 82, of Newark, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 18, at Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home with Pastor Anthony Payton officiating. Burial will take place in Newark Memorial Gardens. Friends may call from 11 am-1 pm prior to the service at the funeral home, 179 Granville Street in Newark.

Ruth was born January 3, 1936 in Erwin, Tennessee to the late Lloyd and Katherine Laughlin. She passed away on Friday, December 14, 2018 at Newark Care and Rehab.

Ruth retired from J.C. Penney Outlet in Columbus. She was a member of Jacksontown United Methodist Church and enjoyed shopping, cleaning, doing laundry and spending time with her family. She dearly loved her dogs and was the type of person that never knew a stranger.

She is survived by her daughter, Patty Mitchell; four grandchildren, Michael (Kendra) Burtnett, Katherine D. Burtnett, Erica Mitchell and Jessica Mitchell; and eight great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Clifford Dailey, on March 27, 2015; and by a son, Thomas.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
