Ruth E. Devoll

A funeral service celebrating the life of Ruth E. DeVoll, age 75, of Newark, will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, January 9, at Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home, 179 Granville Street, Newark, with Pastor Jeff Smith officiating. Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home where the Order of the Eastern Star #305 will have a service at 6:45 p.m. A graveside interment service will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, January 10, at Glen Rest Memorial Estate.Ruth was born July 29, 1939 in Johnstown, Ohio to the late Harold and Esther (Copp) Nutt. She passed away on Tuesday, January 6, 2015 at Genesis Hospice in Zanesville.Ruth was a 1957 graduate of Newark High School. She retired from Owens Corning Fiberglas where she had been a secretary and worked in the wool packing department. Ruth was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star #305 and enjoyed gardening, cross-stitch and embroidery.She is survived by a son, Robert DeVoll of Newark; daughter, Teresa (Terry) McConnell of Heath and Bernadette (Jeff) Hunt of Ashville; grandchildren, Brittini Hancock, Chenoa and Shawn DeVoll, Dalton Hunt, Jessica (Travis) Dozer; great-grandchildren, Gavin Zannetti, Landyn Voelker, Alexis Dozer and Luke Dozer; brother-in-law, Howard Haga of Purity; many nieces, nephews, cousins and other relation of the Nutt and Copp families.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harry R. DeVoll, in 2009; by a son, David Wayne DeVoll, on December 6, 2014; and by a sister, Edna Wright.Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home is honored to care for the DeVoll family.
