Ruth E. White

Ruth E. White, 89, of Thornville, passed away on Friday, August 30, 2013 at Genesis Hospital in Zanesville. She was born on August 6, 1924 in Thornville to the late Carl and Estella (Edmond) Courson. Ruth was a member of the Grace Lutheran Church, OCCL Mothers Club, Democrat Women, Perry County Extension, and the Perry County Historical Society, as well as many other organizations. She was also a Girl Scouts of America Leader having been instrumental in bringing the club to the Thornville area. She is survived by her loving family: children, Rebecca Krumlauf, William (Jennifer) White, Kaye (Michael) Smith, Nancy (Mark Hall) White, and Anna Lea (Tracy) Wells; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; her sister, Louise (Cleo) Franks; her brother, Marlyn (Phyllis) Courson; as well as many nieces and nephews.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James in 2002; her daughter, Linda Layton, and her son, Michael White, brother, Lewis Courson and sister, Virginia Frankenbery. A funeral service, celebrating Ruths life, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 4, 2013 at Grace Lutheran Church, Thornville, with Pastors David Zandtofficiating.
