Ruth Emmalea (Thompson) Short

A graveside service celebrating the life of Ruth Emmalea (Thompson) Short, age 73, of Thornville, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 11, at Fairmount Cemetery with Pastor Rusty Foley officiating.Ruth was born February 10, 1942 in Louisa, Kentucky to the late Straud and Georgia (Moore) Thompson. She passed away on Sunday, March 8, 2015 at Autumn at the Lake in Thornville.Ruth retired from the Diebold Corp. She enjoyed reading and spending time with her family and adored her grandchildren.She is survived by a daughter, Brenda (Todd) McLean of Glenford; son, Michael Short of Thornville; two grandchildren, Sara McLean and Hunter McLean; and nieces and nephews.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles M. Short, whom she married March 17, 1960 and who passed away in 2004; and by two brothers, Kenneth Thompson and Jay Thompson; and a sister, Maxine Laney.There will be no calling hours observed.Memorial contributions may be made to the Foundation for Hospice of Central Ohio.The Thornville home of Hoskinson Funeral & Cremation Service is honored to care for the Short family.
