A funeral service celebrating the life of Ruth Gotschall, 90, of Hebron, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 23, 2017, in the chapel of the Kirkersville home of HOSKINSON Funeral and Cremation Service, with burial to follow at Licking Cemetery. Ruth died peacefully on Friday morning, January 20, 2017, at her home, with her family by her side. She was born June 1, 1926, in Glen Roy, Ohio, the daughter of late John Hansgen and Dorsa (Bates) McWhorter. A lifelong homemaker, Ruth Ann loved OSU Football, Canning playing scrabble and spending time with her family. She is survived by her loving family: Nancy (Eddie) Turner, Lorrie (Reggie) Harpole, Danny (Lucinda) Gotschall, Larry (Christy) Gotschall; her brother Lawrence Sonny (Carolyn) McWhorter, her 13 grandchildren, 24 great- grandchildren 12 great-great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband John Gotschall, whom she married on February 18, 1952, and who predeceased her on August 15, 1978; along with her daughters Elaine and Betty, and her step-father Floyd McWhorter.
