A graveside funeral service, celebrating the life of Ruth Ann Johnson, 80, Zanesville, formerly of Newark, will be held on Friday, April 23, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Cedar Hill Cemetery with Minister Kyle Denney officiating. Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 22nd from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral and Cremation Service, 179 Granville Street, Newark. Due to the COVID-19 restrictions, masks must be worn inside the funeral home and please practice social distancing. Ruth was born in Cadiz, Ohio on July 11, 1940 to the late John William and Viola (Jackson) Stinard. She passed away at her residence on April 18, 2021. Prior to retirement, she was a nurse for many years. She enjoyed riding horses, was an animal lover and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Jack and Joann Carrothers; grandchildren, Zach Carrothers and Josh (Destinee) Carrothers; great grandson, Sawyer Carrothers; cousin and caregiver, Terry Dunlap; and numerous stepchildren, relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Jack Carrothers, Sr., second husband, Thomas Anderson, and third husband, Ernie Johnson. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Ruth to the Licking County Humane Society. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
