Ruth Ann Mccoy

A funeral service celebrating the life of Ruth Ann McCoy, age 84, of Newark, will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 22, at Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home with Pastor Bob Davidson officiating. Burial will take place in Newark Memorial Gardens.

Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, June 21 at the funeral home, 179 Granville Street in Newark.

Ruth Ann was born February 18,1939 in Barbour, West Virginia to the late Irwin Delbert and Martha Elizabeth (Crichfield) Streets. She passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, June 16, 2023.

Ruth Ann retired from Licking County 911 where she served as a dispatcher for 26 years.  Ruth Ann enjoyed singing, cross-stitching, sudoku puzzles, and spending time with her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by daughters, Penny (Randy) Patterson, Barb Lonzo, Pam McCoy-Himes, and Nancy (Mike) Shaffer; grandchildren, Brandy, Ryan and Cody Patterson, Dawn and Terri Lonzo, Amber McCoy, Jamie York II, Ashley Jane Tyson, and Megan York, Amity, Ananda, and Hayden Shaffer, and Steven Hailey Sha Roush; great-grandchildren, Ember Patterson, Destiny Cunningham, Olivia Porter, Izabella Lavery, Dicey McCoy, Jaidyn Clapp, Alex, Jailynn, and Ryker York, Rayan Durtschi, Lydia Tyson, and Fionn Shaffer; a sister, Phyllis Campbell of Marion; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Ruth Ann was preceded in death by her former husband, Denbo J. McCoy; a daughter, Angela Gay; two brothers; and four sisters.
