Ruth Ella Moran, 78, of Newark, passed away at her residence on July 31, 2019, while surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Delaware, Ohio on April 7, 1941 to the late William Edward and Mary Jeanette (Fleming) Phelps. Ruth was a devoted homemaker to her family. She was a former member of the Newark Eagles Lodge and the Newark American Legion Ladies Auxiliary Post 85. She was a gifted and published poem writer, enjoyed painting, coloring, fishing, bowling, puzzles, listening to music, playing board games and spending time with family and friends. Survivors include her loving husband of nearly 40 years, Alan R. Moran, whom she married August 25, 1979; devoted daughter, Ginger Stout; sister, Phyllis Moran; brothers, Edward Phelps and John Phelps; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sister, Carolyn Friend and Susan Rhoades. The family would like to thank the Licking Memorial Hospital Radiology Department for all of the love and care that was provided to Ruth during her illness.
