Sally Jean Combs

A memorial service for Sally Jean Combs, 74, of Thornville, will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 25, 2024, at the Thornville home of HOSKINSON Funeral and Cremation Service, 56 S. Main St. in Thornville with Pastor Doug Lynn as Celebrant. Inurnment will follow at a later date in the Lutheran Reformed Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. immediately preceding the memorial service at the funeral home.

Sally passed away on Wednesday, August 21, 2024 in Newark following an extended illness. She was born September 15, 1949 in Newark, the daughter of the late Gerald A McCabe and Emagene (Thompson) McCabe.

Sally was employed at Owens Corning Fiberglas and following retirement at The Backwoods.

She enjoyed horses and was a member of the Horse Driving Club. She also enjoyed sewing, painting, and gardening.

Sally is survived by her loving family: her husband, Ron, whom she married on October 1, 1984; her children, Brandy (Dusty) Schorr, Tyler (Carrie) Combs, and Samantha Stone (Combs); her grandchildren, Stella, Lola, and Emma; her sister, Sandra Mowrey (Scott); niece, Joanne Lemay and nephew, Tristan Mowrey; along with her best friend, Connie Kreager.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her nephew, Justin Mowrey.
