Sandra Ann "Sandy" Mossman

A funeral service celebrating the life of Sandra Ann Sandy Mossman, age 71, of Newark, will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, August 11, at Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home with Rev. Cliff Church officiating. Burial will take place in Fredonia Cemetery.Sandy was born July 5, 1943 in Baltimore, Maryland to the late Woodrow Oliver and Georgia Pauline (Roberts) Rose. She passed away on Tuesday, August 5, 2014 at Licking Memorial Hospital.Sandy retired from The Limited and had also been formerly employed at the Aladdin Restaurant in Granville and the L & K Restaurant. She enjoyed crocheting, computers and games, having coffee with her sister, Shirley, and spending time with her grandchildren.She is survived by her husband of 46 years, John E. Jack Mossman, whom she married February 3, 1968; four children, Robert Bobby (Diana) Mossman of Toboso, Malynda Mindy Evans of Utica, Jackie R. Powell and John E. (Nickie) Mossman II, all of Newark; step-son, John Russell Mossman of Newark; fourteen grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; three sisters, Gloria (Clyde) Winegardner and Shirley (Buster) Robinson, all of Newark, and Kathy Merrill of Fredonia; many nieces and nephews; and her faithful companions, her dogs, Clyde and Bear.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, William Billy Mossman, on September 2, 1983; and by three brothers, Wayne, Steve and Tommy Rose.Friends may call from3-8 p.m. on Sunday, August 10, at the funeral home, 179 Granville Street, Newark.Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home is honored to care for the Mossman family.
