Sandra L. "Sandy" Hanna

A funeral service celebrating the life of Sandra L. “Sandy” Hanna, 75, of Newark, will be held on Saturday, April 13, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home, with Pastor Dave Mason officiating. Burial will follow in Fairmount Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home, 179 Granville Street, Newark, on Friday, April 12th from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sandy was born in Harmon, Virginia on March 1, 1949 to the late Ola and Lorraine (Owens) Dales. She passed away at the Selma Markowitz Care Center, operated by Hospice of Central Ohio, on April 6, 2024. After graduating from Licking Valley High School, Class of 1967, Sandy worked and modeled for Roper Manufacturing and the John J. Carroll Department Store. Prior to retirement, she worked for many years as an administrative assistant. Sandy was a devoted homemaker to her family and she enjoyed traveling, visiting her grandchildren and spending time with her family and friends. Survivors include her loving husband of 52 years, Roy “Tom” Hanna, whom she married January 7, 1972; son, Shaun (Carmella) Hanna; brother and sisters, Susan Rader, Dave (Ramona) Dales and Connie Waugh; grandchildren, Navy, Isabell, Nova, British, Vayda, Turk, Rader, Irelynd, Remy and Banx Hanna; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, cousins and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Echo Hanna. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Sandy to Hospice of Central Ohio.
