Sandra Lynn “Sandy” Porter, age 85, of Granville, passed away on Sunday, February 11, 2024.
Sandy was born July 13, 1938 in Mount Vernon, Ohio to the late Glenn Alvin “Bill” Moreland and the late Eldora Ellen (Rector) Moreland. She was a 1956 graduate of Centerburg High School. Sandy was employed with Diebold for 10 years. A homemaker, Sandy was an avid vegetable gardener and enjoyed canning and preserving her harvest. She also enjoyed flower gardening and working in the yard, crossword and jigsaw puzzles, and was an avid reader. For 20 years, she and her husband Ken traveled to Arizona where they would typically stay for six months out of the year, relishing the warmth and socializing with many dear friends. She and Ken also enjoyed playing and singing Country music together. She was very much loved and will be dearly missed.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Dave Ogilbee; grandchildren, Charlie Ogilbee (Marie) and Melissa Ogilbee (Brad); great-grandchildren, Taylor Ogilbee, Andrew Ogilbee (Kimber), and Ryan Ogilbee; great-great-granddaughter, Lyla Faith; sisters, Elaine (Ron) Houck and Pat (Bill) Watson; brother-in-law, Bob (Audrey) Porter; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Kenneth F. Porter, whom she married July 17, 1957 and who passed away on May 11, 2023; a son, Dave Porter, who died February 3, 1985; and by two sisters, Nancy Porter and Jill (George) Conant.
