Sarah Opheral Sheets

Sarah “Aunt Sally” Opheral (Jenkins) Sheets, 60, passed away on December 18, 2021 after a short battle with cancer.  She was surrounded by her nieces, nephew and brother.

Sarah was born on October 4, 1961 in Lancaster, Ohio.  She was one of five children born to the late Edward Lee Jenkins Sr. and the late Margaret June (Williams) Jenkins.

Prior to moving to Newark to be with her family, Sarah was a vacation representative in Las Vegas, Nevada.  Sarah also spent several years as a casino cashier in Utah.

Sarah was the light of every room she entered. She unwittingly commanded attention and was loved by everyone she met. Sarah’s infectious laugh and constant pranks lasted until she was called home to heaven.

Sarah is survived by her sister, Carla (Richard) Cole of St. Louis Missouri; brother, Fritz Jenkins of Columbus; 14 nieces and nephews; and many great nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Sarah was preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents; sister, Paula Nadine (Williams) Neal; brother, Edward Lee Jenkins, Jr.; stepson, Joseph Lee Sheets; and the love of her life, Ralph Michael Sheets.

Per Sarah’s wishes, she will be cremated and a celebration of her life will be held at a later time. In lieu of donations to Sarah’s Go Fund Me account the family is asking for donations to the American Cancer Society be made in Sarah’s name. All Go Fund Me proceeds will be used towards the celebration of life and donated to the American Cancer Society.
