Sharon Lee Brussee

September 28, 1950 — January 6, 2022

Sharon Lee (Hedges) Brussee, 71, of Thornville, passed away Thursday, January 6 th , 2022, in Columbus.  She was born on September 28 th , 1950 in Lancaster, Ohio to the late Leonard O. and Frances E. (Fogler) Hedges. She was a 1968 graduate of Sheridan High School and went on to have a successful career, first with Ohio Bell, and then with AT&T, from which she retired. She also formerly served as the Clerk of Council for the Village of Thornville.

Sharon was an active member of the Thornville United Methodist Church, where she chaired the Dorcas Circle and served on various committees. She was also a member of the Thornville Lions Club. She was a die-hard Ohio State Buckeyes football fan and enjoyed politics, baking and genealogy. She was a master with the crochet hook and made and gave many hand-made gifts to friends, family and her church prayer shawl ministry. Her greatest passions in life were God and Family.

Surviving are her husband, Dale Brussee, whom she married in 1999; one son, Timothy (Jennifer) Rickey; four stepchildren: Erika (Adam) Grant; Anna (Daniel) Ng; Alek Brussee and Emillee (Tyler) Stoltz. Sharon and Dale were blessed with eleven grandchildren: Emaleigh, Jacob, Zachary, Andrew, and Nathan Rickey; Thadd and Thea Grant; Natalie and Aubrey Ng; and Carver and Pryor Stoltz.

She also leaves behind four brothers and three sisters: Michael (Jane) Hedges; Jerry Hedges; Debra (Jerry) Brison; Beth (Robert) Patrick; Mark (Johanna) Hedges; Holly (Mark) Holdcroft; Chris (Jill) Hedges; In-laws Laura Pasco and Marlena (Joe) Comber; and many nieces and nephews, including her special “prayer warrior” Carson; and Special Friend Sharon Lee Mason.

In addition to her parents, Sharon was preceded in death by her brother Roger Hedges and sister Deidee Hedges.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Thornville United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 253, Thornville, Ohio 43076.

The family will receive friends on Friday January 14, 2022, 2-4 & 6-8 at the Thornville home of HOSKINSON Funeral and Cremation Service, with Funeral Services Saturday Morning, January 15 at 10:30 a.m. in the Thornville United Methodist Church with Pastor Jeremy Shank as celebrant. Burial will follow in the Lutheran Reformed Cemetery, Thornville.
