Sharon E. Chesser

  A funeral service celebrating the life of Sharon E. Chesser, 73, of Thornville, will be held on Wednesday, October 3, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the Thornville chapel of Hoskinson Funeral and Cremation Service, with Pastor Gary Reiss officiating.  Burial will follow at Zion Ridge Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home, 56 S. Main Street, Thornville, on Tuesday, October 2, 2018 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sharon was born in Thornville, Ohio on February 21, 1945 to the late Herbert and Mable (Taylor) Winegardner.  She passed away at Altercare of Thornville on September 29, 2018. Prior to retirement, she was a stock clerk for J.C. Penney Outlet for 34 years and was also an Avon sales representative for many years.  She was a member of Zion Reformed United Church of Christ. She enjoyed crocheting, listening to Conway Twitty and was well known for her homemade noodles. Survivors include her daughter, Lori (Larry) Mulkey; sister, Betty “Joan” Gothard; special niece and nephew, Gerry Mattis and Troy Winegardner; son-in-law, William Chafins; grandchildren, Kevin (Holly), J.D., and Bethany (T.J.); seven step-children; and many step-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Millard Chesser; daughter, Lisa Chafins; and brothers, Carl, Paul, Dode & Gene Winegardner.To view Sharon's Journey of Remembrance video, please click on this link.
