Sheldon Kenneth Armentrout

Funeral services, celebrating the life of Sheldon Kenneth “Ken” Armentrout, 87, of Pataskala, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 29, 2022, at Jersey Baptist Church, with his Pastor John Hayes as celebrant. Burial will follow in the Pataskala Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening, December 28, 2022, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Jersey Baptist Church, 13260 Morse Rd, New Albany, Ohio 43054.

Ken passed away Monday, December 26, 2022, surrounded by his family. He was born in Columbus on October 24, 1935, the son of the late Sheldon Thoburn and Hazel May (Gray) Armentrout. He served honorably in the US Army and retired after thirty years of service as a driver for the Columbus Dispatch. Ken was a member of the Jersey Baptist Church, where he was an usher. He enjoyed telling jokes, especially corny ones and was a regular for breakfast at the Nutcracker in Pataskala. He was a classic car enthusiast and showed his award winning 1951 Ford Crown Victoria Hardtop to many wins.

He is survived by his loving family: His wife, the former Nancy Weaver, whom he married on August 6, 1960, his son Todd (Linda Rhoades) Armentrout, his daughter Karen Armentrout; and his brother Ray Murray; niece Patty (Jim) Carlson: nephews Steve (Lisa) Murray, Rick (Marykay) Murray and their families. He also is survived by his grand dogs Buffy and Sadie, who he adored.

In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the Jersey Baptist Church Benevolence Fund; envelopes will be available at the church.
