Sherman E Carpenter

Memorial Visitation, celebrating the life of Sherman E. Carpenter, 70, of Thornville will be held on Saturday, October 23, from 1-3 p.m. at the Thornville home of HOSKINSON Funeral and Cremation Service.

Sherman passed away on October 18, 2021 in Columbus. He was born October 5, 1951 in Lancaster, the son of the late Sherman L. and Evelyn F. (Parrish) Carpenter. Graduate of Lancaster HS, class of 1969, and was retired from J.E. Grote Co. A hard worker, he enjoyed golfing, mowing grass, farming and maintaining equipment.  He also loved movies, especially the Ernest films.

He is survived by his loving family: his wife Beth, whom he married on July 20, 2001, his children: Sherman (Jennifer) Carpenter, Doug (Kristy) Carpenter, Tammy (Joseph) Bailey, Jessica (Danny) Simon, Jamie (Jim) Wall; his brother Greg Carpenter, sisters Mary (Tim) Daniel, Lisa Carpenter; his 13 grandchildren and 7 great- grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife Clara Collins, and his sister Sharyn Waugh.
