Shirley Anne Angle

A funeral service celebrating the life of Shirley Anne Angle, 72, of Newark, will be held on Monday, October 18, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at Newark Freewill Baptist Church, with Pastor Johnny Ray Davis and Clint Higginbotham officiating. Visitation will be held at the church, 37 Westmoor Avenue, Newark, one hour prior to the funeral service on Monday, from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. Shirley was born on July 23, 1949 in Newark, Ohio to the late Marion “Buck” and Wanda (Kettlewell) Prince. She passed away on October 13, 2021 at Licking Memorial Hospital. Shirley was a member of the Newark Freewill Baptist Church. She enjoyed reading and crafting, but most important was the time she spent with her family and friends. Survivors include her loving husband of 55 years, Boyd C. Angle, whom she married August 23, 1966; daughter, Janetta Wheeler; sister, Edna (Larry) Chrisman; grandsons, Weslee (Alyssa Smathers) Roberts and Ryan Wheeler; niece, Julie Chrisman; her beloved dog, Sadie; and many friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Kathryn Ramsey; son-in-law, Jay Wheeler; mother-in-law, Helen Angle; and father-in-law, Colen Angle. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Shirley to the Licking County Humane Society. Envelopes will be available at the church.
