Shirley Ann Patterson

A funeral service celebrating the life of Shirley Ann Patterson, age 54, of Portsmouth, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, August 14, 2015 at Hoskinson Funeral & Cremation Service, 285 East Main Street, Kirkersville. Friends may call from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will take place in Kirkersville Cemetery.Shirley was born August 11, 1960 in Columbus, Ohio to the late Jesse and Edith Ann (Bennett) Patterson. She passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 8, 2015 at Southern Ohio Medical Center in Portsmouth surrounded by her loving family.Shirley was a 1978 graduate of Watkins Memorial High School. She worked as a nurses aide at a nursing home in Wheelersburg for several years. Shirley was an avid gardener and loved to can. She will be remembered for her delicious strawberry jam and strawberry pies. She was a NASCAR fan and always remembered her family with cards and stickers at holidays and birthdays.She is survived by a son, Rob Patterson of McDermott; brothers, John David (Jeong) Patterson of Connecticut, Richard (Linda) Patterson of Heath, Benjamin (Victoria) Patterson of Thornville, Randy (Traci) Patterson of Pataskala, Paul (Dana) Patterson of Pataskala and Rex (Laurie) Patterson of Sugar Grove; grandchildren, Marlena Patterson and Madison Patterson; great-grandson, Konner Zane Dunn; life partner, Dean Clark, and his son, Ralph Clark; daughter-in-law, Angie Lewis of West Portsmouth; step-mother, Emma Jean Patterson of Granville; nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins; and dear family friend, Dent Dailey.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas Edward Patterson; and by two grandchildren, Robert Lee Patterson II and Emily Dawn Patterson.Hoskinson Funeral & Cremation Service is honored to care for Shirley and her family.
