Shirley C. Burnworth

A funeral service, celebrating the life of Shirley C. Burnworth AKA: “Bright Eyes”, 80, of Buckeye Lake, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 24, 2019, with burial to follow in the Fairmount Cemetery near Jacksontown. Shirley passed away early Monday morning, January 21, 2019, at the home of her daughter. She was born in Georges, Pa., the daughter of the late Lewis and Alice (Whitley) Harris. For many years, she operated her own cleaning business, and then worked for McDonalds in Buckeye Lake for 27 years. She was a Baptist by faith. She adored her family and enjoyed bowling. An avid sports fan, she followed the Buckeyes, Lakers and Cowboys. She is survived by her four children: David and Dennis Burnworth, both of Buckeye Lake; Kelly Foster of Heath and Kathy Burnworth of Newark; her grandchildren Chrissy, Candy, Joshua, Brandon, Brittany and Brayden; her brother Larry (Vanessa) Harris of Hurricane, WV., her sister Katherine Schonauer of Reynoldsburg; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Paul Gene Burnworth in 1984; her grandson Keith and her 5 brothers and 2 sisters.
