Shirley J. Colley

A funeral service celebrating the life of Shirley J. Colley, age 86, of Winter Haven, Florida, formerly of Buckeye Lake, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 6, at the Hebron Chapel of Hoskinson Funeral & Cremation Service with Dave Mason officiating. Burial will take place in Millersport Cemetery.

Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. on Thursday, October 5, at the funeral home, 108 North 7th Street in Hebron.

Shirley was born May 3, 1937 in Willsonberg, West Virginia to the late Victor Harry Ash and the late Mildred Gail (Vincent) Ash Walters. She passed away on Monday, September 18, 2023 in Winter Haven.

For many years, Shirley was an EMT and was a Fire Belle with the Buckeye Lake Fire Department. She was in charge of the Buckeye Lake Food Pantry and enjoyed crafts, especially making wreaths. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother and especially doted on her great-grandchildren.

She is survived by three children, Trent (Debbie) Colley of Fort Myers, Florida, Victoria (Jay) Justice and Rhonda (Rick) Armstrong, all of Winter Haven, Florida; 11 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Lewis Colley on May 3, 2006; a son, Bryan J. Colley; brother, Victor Eugene “Doc” Ash; and sister, Marilyn Elaine Ash.
