Shirley Mauller

A funeral service celebrating the life of Shirley A. Mama Bear Mauller, age 77, of Thornville, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 16, at Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 12-1 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will take place in Lutheran Cemetery.Shirley was born July 18, 1937 in Newark, Ohio to the late George Mummey and Eva (Frazier) Mummey Vermillion. She passed away on Tuesday, September 9, 2014 at her home.Shirley was a housekeeper for over 30 years with Sion Digman and Sharon Glyn Senior Living. She enjoyed gardening, caring for her flowers, cooking, making pies, especially peach and apple, and caring for others. She enjoyed Country music, especially George Jones, and loved her Boxers.She is survived by daughters, Lisa Angle of Thornville, Loura Nesser of Hanover and Eva (Rusty) Gorsuch of Groveport; grandchildren, Amber Harmon, Kelly Harmon, Harvey Harmon, Brandon (Amanda) Ellis, Autumn (John) Ware, Mikey Nesser and Tyler A. Gorsuch; nine great-grandchildren; sisters, Linda Kiser of Newark and Thelma Brown of Newark; numerous nieces and nephews; and her loving dog, Sala.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James A. Mauller, in 1987; by her step-father, John Johnny Vermillion; grandson, Brian R. Gorsuch; and a sister, Dorothy M.
