Shirley Rorrer

October 12, 1943 — June 30, 2017

Shirley Ann Rorrer, 73, of Hebron, passed away after an extended illness on June 30, 2017. She was born October 12, 1943 in Columbus to the late J.P. and Thelma Morgan. Shirley had a career working in restaurants and retired as a manager with the Trout Club in Newark. In her earlier days, Shirley enjoyed roller skating and playing baseball. Many memories were made playing cards with family and friends. Shirley also enjoyed spending time with family, fishing, gardening, quilting, and canning fruits and vegetables with her husband. She is survived by her loving husband of 32 years, William G. Rorrer; daughter Patricia Ginther of Columbus; sons Robert (Barbie) Clifford of Columbus and Scott (Carol) Vogel of Circleville; step daughters Christel (Cory) Best and Debra (Mark) Mecozzi ; sister Pat (John) Balka of Utica; grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Her sister-in-law Eva Jane Martin also held a special place in her heart. She is preceded in death by her half-sister Peggy (Bill) Huffman. A celebration of life service will take place in August. This will be an informal gathering to share pictures, stories and remembrances of a life well lived. Following cremation, a private interment will be held at a later date at the Kirkersville Cemetery.
