Shirley Ann White, 76, of Alexandria, passed on Thursday, April 25, 2013 in Columbus, following an extended illness. She was born on December 2, 1936 in Metropolis, Illinois, the daughter of the late Lawrence and Dimple Taylor. She was a beauty school graduate, and owned her own businesses in Kirkersville for many years, The Beauty Shop and Kirkersville Carry-Out. She loved her family, and enjoyed horses, flowers, gardening and Angels.She is survived by her loving family: daughter Cheryl (Gary) Phillips of Kirkersville, sons: Rick Spurgeon of Pataskala, Randy (Toni) Spurgeon of South Carolina, Robert (Pamela) Spurgeon of Columbus, and Robert P Spurgeon of Pataskala whom she raised as her son; 10 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; dear friend Hank Ruppel and family of Alexandria, with whom she made her home.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter Tammy Spurgeon and a grandson Zach Phillips.A memorial service, celebrating Shirleys life will be held at 7:30 pm on Monday, April 29, 2013, in the chapel of the Kirkersville home of HOSKINSON Funeral & Cremation Service, 285 East Main St in Kirkersville, with Pastor Alberta Thompson as celebrant.Friends may call at the Funeral Home on Monday, from 6 until the time of services.An on-line guest register and video tribute are available at www.hoskinsonfuneral.com.HOSKINSON Funeral & Cremation Service, Kirkersville, is honored to care for the White family.
