Sigrid Louise Ballman

A Funeral Mass, celebrating the life of Sigrid Louise Ballman, 81, of Hebron, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, June 4, 2021 in the Our Mother of Sorrows Chapel at St. Joseph Cemetery, Lockbourne. Burial will follow the funeral service on Friday. The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 3, 2021 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Kirkersville home of HOSKINSON Funeral and Cremation Service, 285 East Main Street in Kirkersville.

Sig passed away suddenly on Thursday, May 27, 2021, following a period of declining health. She was born in Delaware on Jul 23, 1939, the daughter of the late Clinton and Clara (Slane) Pierce. Sig retired after a long career driving school bus for both the Lakewood Schools and Southwest Licking Local Schools.

Sig was a huge Ohio State Buckeyes fan, and enjoyed puzzles and reading, going to yard sales and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her family: children Chuck Ballman, Sue (Steve) Lyle, Julie Lambert, Tim and Andy Ballman; her 9 grandchildren and many great grandchildren; along with her sisters Mary Pierce and Sue (Kenny) Schuler and her brother Salem Pierce, several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Sig was preceded in death by her husband Charles “Pappy” Ballman, her son Joseph and her daughter Dana, along with her grandchildren Deanna and James.

The family prefers that expressions of sympathy in the form of memorial contributions be directed to the Alzheimers Foundation of Ohio. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
