Sonya Marie Gilbert

Sonya Marie Gilbert, age 76, of Columbus, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, March 5, 2021 at her home. Sonya was born November 28, 1944 to the late Everett and Martha (Strain) Griffith.

Sonya was a security guard with G4S in Columbus. She enjoyed fishing, shopping, and going to yard sales.

She is survived by three children, Troy H. (Deserie) Gilbert of Logan, Mary M. Gilbert of Columbus and Shawn M. (Homer) Bonecutter of Clarksburg; ten grandchildren, Ronshea, Troy, Jr., Brandy Marie, Faith Ann, Maya Michelle, Sixx Marie, Deserie Dawn, Jr., Shawnee Marie, Chase Walker and Larry; several great-grandchildren; sisters, Norma Blakely of Etna, Kay Dalton and Karen (Steve) Geyer, all of Florida; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Larry Griffith; and a brother-in-law, Carl Blakely.

Friends may call from 2-5 p.m. on Saturday, March 13, at the Kirkersville Chapel of Hoskinson Funeral & Cremation Service, 285 East Main Street in Kirkersville.
