A funeral service celebrating the life of Stanley “Deano” Hottinger, 71 of Newark, will be held on Thursday, December 29, 2022 at 3:00 p.m. at Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral and Cremation Service, with Pastor Wes Humble officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home, 179 Granville Street, Newark, one hour prior to the funeral service on Thursday, from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. Deano was born in Newark, Ohio on June 1, 1951 to the late Jacob and Nellie (Shipley) Hottinger. He passed away at his residence on December 26, 2022. Prior to retirement, Deano worked for Contract Lumber for many years, along with 84 Lumber and Mid-Ohio Warehouse. He enjoyed camping, woodworking, hunting and fishing in Canada, but most important was the time he spent with his loving family and friends. Survivors include his daughters, Candace Hottinger, Aurora (fiancé, Pat) Johnson and Deanna (Gabriel) Burgoon; grandchildren, Brandon (Kelcy), Sasha (Stephen), Cody, Shyler, Bradley and Sikulik; great grandchildren, Keagan, Kallen, Xander, Kohen, Mason and Aria; special niece, Bonnita McGuire; sisters, Pam Davis, Sheryl (Scott) Baker and Michelle (Russ) Miller; brothers, Charlie Hottinger, Don (Dodie) Hottinger, Joe Hottinger and Matthew Hottinger; his loving dog, Kali; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Marsha Hottinger; second wife, Rebecca Hottinger; brothers, Bill Hottinger, Roger Hottinger and Melvin Hottinger. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Deano to Hospice of Central Ohio. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
