Steven R. Fown

A memorial service celebrating the life of Steven R. Fown, age 52, of Newark, will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 22, at the Kirkersville home of Hoskinson Funeral & Cremation Service with Pastor Tim Sowards officiating. The family will receive friends from 4-6 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.Steve was born June 20, 1963 in Columbus, Ohio. He passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, October 17, 2015 at his home.A 1981 graduate of Watkins Memorial High School and the Licking County JVS, Steve had been employed with Meritor and Modern Welding. He attended Crossroads Baptist Church in Newark and loved nature and walking, especially at Dawes Arboretum. He enjoyed detailing and working on cars.He is survived by his mother, Diana S. (Fish) Waggoner of Reynoldsburg; sister, Connie (Dave) Riley of Pataskala; brothers, Darrin Fown (Valerie Cline) of Newark and Gregory Fown (Bobby Hilliard) of Chicago, IL; half sister, Judy Cantrell; close personal friend, Sandy K. Neagos and her son, Matt; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.He was preceded in death by his father, Billy Joe Fown; and his step-father, Daniel Waggoner.Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.Hoskinson Funeral & Cremation Service is honored to care for Steve and his family.
