Susan Elizabeth Earl

Susan Pape Earl 1944 - 2023 Susan Pape Earl, late of Groveport, Ohio passed away peacefully surrounded by family on October 20, 2023 at Mount Carmel East in Columbus, Ohio. Susan was born in Brooklyn, New York on September 21, 1944 to Margaret and Heinrich. In 1955 Susan, her mother and brother, Robert, relocated to Monroe, NY after her Fathers sudden passing. There she attended Washingtonville Schools and graduated from Washingtonville High School in 1961. Following High School Susan married Robert N Earl who , at the time, was a 2nd Lieutenant in the United States Air-Force. During that time Susan attended Holyoke Community College in Chicopee, Massachusetts, where she completed her Degree. After years of traveling Susan and her family decided to settle down and build a home, where she grew up, in Washingtonville, NY. It’s there where Susan would spend many years happily raising her four wonderful children, Deborah, Michael, Daniel, and Jennifer, who were everything to her. As her children got older Susan decided to return to school to become a Dental Assistant at a local office (Dr. Alan J Nukk, Cosmetic & Family Dentistry) so that she could still be there for her children. Susan later moved to GrovePort, OH in 2001 where she worked for CareWorks, located in Dublin, OH, until she retired in the Spring of 2009. Susan was an incredible woman who left an impressive legacy. She devoted her life to her family, and treasured her trips to Bar Harbor, ME with them. She filled her days with yard sales, reading, and traveling with family. She was a loving “Grandma Sue” to her eight grandchildren, and will be remembered for her strength and kindness. Susan is survived by her daughter Debby Elizabeth (Lowell) Morrison; Son Mike Robert (Kathy) Earl; Son Danny Robert (Holly) Earl; Daughter Jennifer Susan (Frank) Simpson; Sister-in-Law Beth Pape; Nephew Johnathon (Emily) Pape; 8 Grand Children including McKenna Callan Morrison, Madeline Rose Earl, Gavin Michael Earl, Cooper Daniel Earl, Emily Margaret Earl, Kadence Elizabeth Simpson, Paisley Rose Simpson and Camden Jackson Simpson. Susan was preceded in death by her Mother, Margaret Pape; Father, Heinrich Pape; Step Father, Karl Von Glahn; and Brother, Robert Frederick Pape. Family and friends are invited to celebrate the life of Susan on Saturday, November 4th at the Hoskinson Funeral Home located at 56 S Main Street, Thornville, OH 43076. Visitation will take place from 2-4PM, followed by a celebration of her life. An additional service will be held at Harris Funeral Home located at 11 Railroad St, Roscoe, NY 12776 on November 18th at 12PM, where after a short service there will be a procession to Riverview Cemetery located at Riverview Rd, Roscoe, NY 12776 for a short graveside service. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to a charity or library of your choice in Susan’s honor. Expressions of condolences may be sent to the family at the address provided.
