Susie Bernowski

A funeral service celebrating the life of Susie Bernowski, 86 of Heath, will be held on Thursday, July 6, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Fairmount Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home, 179 Granville Street, Newark, on Thursday, two hours prior to the funeral service, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Susie was born in Flushing, Ohio on July 17, 1936 to the late Roy Ernest and Ella Mae (Walker) Grimes. She passed away at her residence on July 1, 2023. Prior to retirement, Susie was an accountant with J.C. Penney for over 20 years and with Advance Cabinetry for 15 years. She was a member of Heath United Methodist Church. She enjoyed researching ancestry, bike riding, gardening, camping, traveling and loved spending time with her family and friends. Survivors include her children, Robert Bernowski, Michael (Mindy) Bernowski, Debora (Jeff) Kelly, Terry Bernowski and Rick (Esther) Bernowski; 15 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren; and many other family members and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert R. Bernowski, Sr.; and sister, Shirley Tantillo.
