Sylvan Mercedes Mount Whitehouse, 89, of Vermontville, Michigan, (formerly of Crooksville, Ohio) died Friday evening, July 3, 2015. Mercedes was born April 12, 1926 in Oakfield, Ohio, a daughter of William and Ada Mount, at their family home. Mercedes was a homemaker, she was a waitress for a short time, she also worked at the Watt Pottery in the Roseville area. She married Don Whitehouse in June of 1942 and was married to Don for over 30 years. Mercedes also lived in Paisley, Florida, Hendersonville, North Carolina; and Travelers Rest, South Carolina; before moving to Vermontville, Michigan to be near her Daughter, Sandra. She and Don operated a country music venue at "Frontier Ranch" called "The Big National Country Show" from 1962 until 1965. They lived for several years near Jacksontown, Ohio behind the "Hilltopper" restaurant.Friends may call at the Thornville home of HOSKINSON Funeral & Cremation Service, from 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. where Funeral Services celebrating her life will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 8, 2015. Burial will follow on Thursday morning, July 9, 2015 at the Oakwood Cemetery near Millertown (Corning) Ohio.
