A funeral service, celebrating the life of Thelma Lea Lewis, 72, will be held on Friday, June 5, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Wallace Justice officiating in the chapel of the Thornville home of HOSKINSON Funeral & Cremation Service, with burial to follow at Somerset Cemetery.Thelma died Friday, May 29, 2015 in Oakland County, Michigan following an extended illness. She was born August 18, 1942 in Varney, W.V., the daughter of the late Leo and Ophie (Tiller) Varney.She was a retired auto worker, who enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and family. She also loved to read.She was a member of the Living Word Church of God in Taylor, Michigan.She is survived by her loving family: son Michael (Barb) Leach of Milford, Michigan, daughter Jennifer Browning (Tom Bartolomucci) of Somerset, grandchildren Michael, Gabrielle, Kori (James), Ashley (Richie) and Javen; great grandchild Ryan (and another on the way), brother Herb (Wonda) Varney, sisters Bernice (Jerry) Ackley and Delores (Jessie) Boyd; along with several nieces and nephews.Friends may call at the funeral home, 56.
