Theodore George Miller Jr., passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family at his lake home in Hebron, Ohio on Wednesday, February 19, 2025, at the age of 93. He was born in Columbus, Ohio, on August 11, 1931 to the late Theodore George Miller, Sr. and Maria (Meyer) Miller.
Ted served honorably in the United States Navy Reserves. He pursued a career in the aluminum siding industry, retiring as the manager of the manufacturing division for Apco Industries. He was a devout Catholic and served as a Eucharistic Minister and an active member of the St. Vincent de Paul Society, serving the poor.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Bettye Lou (Henry) Miller; brother Richard Michael Miller and sister, Ann Elizabeth Hering.
He is survived by his children, Peg (Alicia Newbury) Miller, General Maryanne Miller, Retired, Theodore "Ted" (Marvilla) Miller III, Timothy Joseph (Perry Mott) Miller, Matthew Lynn (Jane) Miller and Michael Ryan (Erin) Miller; grandchildren, Rocky Dohmen, Benjamin (Stacy) Miller, Wesley Tyler Miller, Ethan Wilde Miller, Kyle Rivers Miller, Boston Raine Miller, Sydney Addison Miller, Lillian Blue Miller and Macy Lynn Miller; great-grandchildren, Maelynn Miller and Camryn Miller.
Ted graduated high school from Holy Rosary and went to work at Denison Engineering as a draftsman. That is where he met Bettye, his wife of 54 years.
As a kid he spent many weekends at his grandparent’s house at Buckeye lake and after 48 years raising their family in Hilliard, he and Bettye moved to buckeye lake to enjoy the thing they loved most, living on the water.
Ted loved His Lord, his family and friends with commitment and devotion. He was an avid sailor, master woodworker, and his kids would tell you he could build anything and fix anything but the TV!
They say a first impression says everything and the first thing people would say about Ted was that he was so nice and kind and would do anything for you. For their entire relationship he would come around the car to open the door so our mother could get in or out and a gentleman once asked him if he did that often and he said, “Every time”.
