A funeral service celebrating the life of Theresa Rose Scanlan, 63, of Newark, will be held on Wednesday, May 5, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral and Cremation Service. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home, 179 Granville Street, Newark, on Wednesday, one hour prior to the funeral service, from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. Theresa was born in Newark, Ohio on November 7, 1957 to the late Alexander and Fay Eva (Woods) Scanlan. She passed away at OSU East Hospital on April 28, 2021. Theresa was a member of More Life Church in Newark. She was a devoted homemaker to her family. She enjoyed cooking and everyone was always welcome in her home and nobody ever left hungry. She will be missed by everyone that knew her. Survivors include her children, Malita (Kenneth Ross) Scanlan-Ross, Tony (Kelly) Scanlan, Lovette Hughes, Charles (Carlie) Ewings, Dana (Cassie) Pritchett, Nedra Pritchett and Tyrone (Rebecca) Ross; grandchildren, Angelia (Christopher), Beamer (Zoey), John (Erika), Natasha, Andre, Serenity, Anthony, Antwaun, Ayden, Arianna, Raven, Marlo, Kristen, Lauren, Lyric, Jasmine, Dana, Nia, Peanut and J.J.; sister, Sharon (Roger) Reed; brothers, Patrick Scanlan and John Scanlan; 17 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sister, Wilda; brother, Richard McMullen; and former significant other, Charles Ewings, Sr. Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral and Cremation Service is honored to care for Theresa and her family.
