Theresa Claire Smith

Calling hours for Theresa Claire Smith, 69, of Glenford, will be held Sunday afternoon February 20, 2022, from 2-4 p.m. in the chapel of Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home, 179 Granville St. Newark, with Vigil prayers to follow at 4:00 p.m, by The Rev. Mr. Patrick Wilson as officiant.

Theresa passed away February 15, 2022 in Thornville following an extended illness. She was born July 16, 1952, the daughter of the late Kenneth and Henriette (Bloemer) Melies. She was a graduate of Catholic High School in Omaha, Nebraska. She had worked as a bookkeeper for various businesses.

She enjoyed her family, church and music. Her real passion was helping others.

She is survived by her children Sheila (Tim) Cornett, Greg (Cassie) Smith, Trevor Smith and Jeff Kreager; her 8 grandchildren, and one great- grandchild; her sister Marcia (Bruce) Walters, Paula Cook and her brother Jim Melies also survive her along with several nieces and nephews.

In additional to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Ken Melies.
