A memorial service celebrating the life of Thomas Carl Tom Sarbach II, age 69, of Newark, will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday December 28, at Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home, 179 Granville Street, Newark, where the family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Pastor Jeff Smith will officiate.Tom was born November 4, 1945 in Massillon, Ohio to the late Thomas Carl and Carolyn Mae (Hutton) Sarbach. He passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at his home. Tom received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Kent State University and was a veteran of the United States Navy. He retired from Huber Automotive in Heath where he had been a finance manager. Tom was a member of the VFW and the Loudonville Eagles. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and family. He enjoyed model trains, golfing and boating and was an avid fan of the Browns and the Indians. He is survived by his wife, Becky S. (Gray) Sarbach, whom he married June 10, 1996; son, Thomas Carl Sarbach III (Becky) of Mansfield; daughter, Heather Pauley (Brett) of Lexington; step-son, Josh Heinze (Jill) of Newark; seven grandchildren, Brittney Shrimplin of Loudonville, Thomas Carl Sarbach of Youngstown, Brett Pauley of Lexington, Zach Sarbach of Wooster, Aidan Heinze of Newark, Grace Sarbach of Mansfield and Cole Pauley of Lexington; two sisters, Linda Miller (Tracy) of Cherry Hill, NJ and Sharon Owens of West Chester; several nieces and nephews; and his faithful canine companion, Sadie.
