Thomas E. Disbennett, age 70, of Newark, passed away on Tuesday, October 25, 2016 at his home. Tom was born September 26, 1946 in Newark, Ohio to the late James E. and Clara Belle (Peck) Disbennett.Tom was a veteran of the United States Army and held the rank of Sergeant. He was a jack of all trades and enjoyed tending his garden, especially his roses. He was a very family oriented man and loved to spend time with his wife, children and grandchildren.He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Hawanna L. (Roy) Disbennett; children, Ronda L. Freeman (Jacob Chrisley), Gayth B. Bud Freeman and William H. Billy Freeman, all of Newark; seventeen grandchildren, Cheryl, Jerry, Carl, Jessica, Jennifer, Koby, Aaron, Becky, Heath, Nicky, Midian, Madison, Sebastian, Seth, Jordan, Hailey and Chance; many great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Donald (Carol) Disbennett of Newark, Patricia (Dennis) Marshall of Columbus, Terry (Rita) Disbennett of Newark, Charles (Becky) Disbennett of Utica and Susan (Jeff) Vogelmeier of Dayton; many nieces and nephews; and his mother-in-law, Marjorie Sloan of Newark.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Russell F. Schimpf, Jr. in 2008; and by a brother, James E.
