Thomas Phillip Phil Cooper, Jr., age 69, of Thornville, passed away on Saturday, January 9, 2016 at his home. Phil was born October 25, 1946 in Newark, Ohio to the late Thomas Phillip Cooper, Sr. and Mary Kathleen (Williams) Cooper.Phil was a veteran of the United States Army and served during Vietnam. He was employed by the Perry County Engineers Office and enjoyed gardening and working in the yard.He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Sandra Katherine Kathy (Leckrone) Cooper; daughter, Heather Cooper (Von Thomas) of Newark; grandchildren, DaVon Thomas and Hayven Thomas; sister, Connie Kreager of Thornville; brothers, Mark (Leslie) Cooper and Gary (Trinda) Cooper, all of Thornville; sisters-in-law, Shirley (Bob) Packer and Patti (Jon) Ridenour, all of Thornville and Diane (Bill) Turnes of Somerset; brother-in-law, Russ (Ellen) Leckrone of Hebron; nieces and nephews, Katherine and Allen Kreager, Sarah and Sierra Cooper, Logan (Laurinda) Cooper, Karissa (Jared) Carpenter, Gretchen (Gavin) Waggoner, Anjanette (Jason) Pitcock, Ryan (Mandy) Packer, Kendall (K.C.) Clovis, Molly (Doug) White, Jenny Turnes, Brad (Erin) Turnes, Mike Turnes, Nicole (Josh) Wilson, Cory (Ashton) Leckrone and Grant Szymczak; and many great-nieces and great-nephews.There will be no calling hours or service observed.Hoskinson Funeral & Cremation Service in Thornville is honored to care for Phil and his family.
