Thomas R. Mcfarland, Sr.

Thomas Ryan McFarland, Sr., 59, of Newark, passed away on April 18, 2015 at the Selma Markowitz Care Center, operated by Hospice of Central Ohio. He was born in Baltimore, MD on May 29, 1955 to the late James R. McFarland Sr., and Jane (Robinson) McFarland.Thomas proudly served our country in the United States Coast Guard. Prior to retirement, he worked for the US Government for over 20 years. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Newark Ward in Granville. He enjoyed writing poetry, cooking, collecting antiques and was a loving father and friend.Survivors include his two sons, Thomas (Jennifer) McFarland, Jr. and Kyle McFarland; brother, James R. McFarland, Jr.; three grandchildren, Taci, Hunter and Terra; great granddaughter, Caitlyn; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Thomas to Foundation For Hospice of Central Ohio, P.O.
