A Funeral Service for Thomas W. Scarberry, 64, of Columbus, will be held on Wednesday, August 29 at 11:00 a.m. at the Tri-County Church of the Nazarene in Thornville, with the Rev. Kenny Brown, officiating. Burial will follow with full military honors at Franklin Hills Memory Gardens. Thomas died on August 25, following an extended illness. He was born in Columbus on October 27, 1947, to the late Ira & Nellie (Pickerman) Scarberry. He was a long time resident of Mt. Perry, where he met his loving wife, Yolonda (Snook), they were married on August 2, 1969. Thomas proudly served with our nations in the Army National Guard for 28 years. In addition to serving our country, he served his community by being active at the Tri-County Church of the Nazarene, he was a School bus driver for the Mt. Perry Headstart Program and was a volunteer softball coach in Glenford. Thomas is survived by his loving family: wife, Yolonda; children: Thomas of WV, Greg of Columbus, Chris (Misty) of Somerset, Cindy (Robert) Wall of Columbus, Patrick (Beth) of Somerset; his sister Carol Winkler of Thornville and his brother Gene of Obetz. Twelve grandchildren and one great grandchild; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Doyle and Wesley and his sister Sherri Triplett. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 28th from 5:00 8:00 p.m. and one hour prior to the service, at the Tri-County Church of the Nazarene.
