Thomas G. Walker, 69, of Thornville, passed away on Sunday, October 13, 2013 at Mt. Carmel West Hospital in Columbus. He was born on October 14, 1943 in Kayford, WV., son of the late Frank and Sophie (Ash) Walker. Tom was a graduate of Central High School in Columbus, and later went on to serve his Country in the United States Navy. He retired from CSX Railroad after 47 years of service as a conductor. Tom enjoyed the great outdoors, especially hiking and sailing. He liked playing cards and was an avid reader, Buckeyes and Browns Fan. He is survived by his loving family: wife, Barbara Sayle; son, Jeffery Walker; two step-children, James (Karen) Turner and Erika Tucker; four grandchildren: Zachery and Jakob Tucker and Nathan and Ryan Turner; a sister, Betty Damron; a brother-in-law, Bob Rutherford; as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Janet Rutherford and Phyllis Sharp. A funeral service, celebrating Toms life, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 17, 2013 in the chapel of the Thornville home of HOSKINSON-Schoedinger Funeral and Cremation Service, 56 S. Main St., with Pastor Dr. John Beckett officiating. Burial with full military graveside rites will follow in Lutheran Reformed Cemetery in Thornville.
