"Trudy" Gertrude Louise Jolley

Gertrude Louise “Trudy” Jolley, age 77, of Newark, passed away on Monday, December 16, 2024 at her home with her family by her side. Trudy was born March 17, 1947 in Newark, Ohio to the late Wayne Allen and Marjorie Sue (Anderson) Rutherford.

Trudy was primarily a homemaker and over the years had worked at Licking Memorial Hospital as a nurses aide and also cleaned homes. She was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Newark. Trudy loved to sing and was a member of the “Country Cut-ups” band. The Matriarch of the family, Trudy loved to cook and bake and her family reports that everything she made was always so delicious.

She is survived by her son, David W. Jolley; a grandson, Coltlin George Jolley; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, George Allen Jolley and Robert Edward Jolley; and by a brother, Wayne Alexander Rutherford; and a sister, Penny Lorraine Getter.

At her request, no service will be observed.
