A funeral service celebrating the life of Twila Opal Bole, age 96, of Newark, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 12, at Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home with Rev. Mark Katrick officiating. Burial will take place in Wilson Cemetery.Mrs. Bole was born March 3, 1919 in Chatham, Ohio to the late Russell McCletus and Alberta Florence (Gregg) Wolfe. She passed away on Sunday, November 8, 2015 at her home surrounded by her loving family.Mrs. Bole had been employed for 16 years as the secretary to the Superintendent of the Lakewood School District. She had also been a payroll supervisor at Denison University for two and a half years. Mrs. Bole was a member of St. Johns United Church of Christ where she had been the church organist for 42 years and was named Organist Emeritus. She was also a former member of the Central Ohio Theatre Organ Society and the American Theatre Organ Society and had played in 55 different churches and nine funeral homes.She is survived by a daughter, Judith A. Hoskinson of Heath; five grandchildren, Debbie Ridgeway, Troy (Dreama) Hoskinson, Tony Hoskinson (Jill Leuders), Ronald Lewis Bole and Shelly Moore; six great-grandchildren, Jason Ridgeway, Jennifer Ridgeway Purdy, Seth Hoskinson, Austin Negele, Brook-Lynn Bole and Tanner Redman; four great-great-grandchildren, Evan Ridgeway, Layne Negele, Elizabeth Ridgeway and Addison Purdy; a step-great-grandson, Travis (Harlene) Price; two step-great-great-grandchildren, Annastan Price and Greyson Price; two nieces and six nephews.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Bernard F. Bole on November 24, 1997; a son, Ronald L. Bole; a grandson, Rickie Lee Bole; three brothers; two sisters; and former son-in-law, Dale Hoskinson.Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. on Wednesday, November 11, at the funeral home, 179 Granville Street, Newark.Memorial contributions may be made to St. Johns United Church of Christ or Hospice of Central Ohio.Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home is honored to care for Twila and her family.
