Veronica Lee Butler

A memorial visitation for Veronica Lee “Vicky” Butler, age 60, of Thornville, will be held from 2-4 p.m. on Thursday, November 7, at the Thornville Chapel of Hoskinson Funeral & Cremation Service, 56 South Main Street, Thornville. Inurnment will take place on Friday, November 8, at Lutheran Reformed Cemetery in Thornville with Clifford Mason as Celebrant.

Vicky was born February 13, 1964 in Alexandria, Virginia. She passed away on Saturday, October 26, 2024 at Select Specialty Hospital in Newark.

A 1982 graduate of Millersport High School, Vicky was a homemaker who enjoyed gardening, canning, and cooking. She was especially known for her bread and salsa. Vicky was a fan of car racing and was on the pit crew for her husband who was a NHRA racer. She also enjoyed watching NASCAR.

She is survived by her loving husband, Jeffrey E. Butler, whom she married February 22, 1991; daughter, Nicky (Matt) Frye of Newark; step-sons, Toby (Elizabeth) Butler and Jerry Butler, all of Newark; grandchildren, Carlee, Ellie, Abbie, Hadley, and Olivia; brother George (Jeff) Measley-Collins of Florida; sister, Sherry Brantley of Florida; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her son, Marshall Thorpe; father, Robert Watts; mother and step-father, Gabriele (Specht) and Jim Crist; brothers, Tony Watts and Herbert Lee Watts; and sister, Michelle Tompkins.
