Victor Arthur "Vic" Grooms

A funeral service celebrating the life of Victor Arthur “Vic” Grooms, age 67, of Newark, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, June 14, at Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home with Clifford Mason officiating. Burial will take place in Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. on Thursday, June 13, at the funeral home, 179 Granville Street in Newark.

Vic was born December 27, 1956 in Newark, Ohio. He passed away on Saturday, June 8, 2024 at his home. Vic was a dedicated employee of THK for 25 years. A jack of all trades, he enjoyed spending time working in his garage and drinking an Old Milwaukee, listening to Rock and Roll music, hunting, fishing, and especially, spending time with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his loving wife, Cathy Grooms, whom he married December 5, 1981; daughter, Crystal Grooms (Robert Martin); son, Chad Grooms (Melisha Hindel); grandchildren, Carter and Camdyn Grooms and Everly and Lena Martin; his mother, Mary Ann (Nethers) Grooms; sister, Evelyn “Beck” Schimpf; brothers, Jeff Grooms, Timothy Grooms, Jerry Henderson, Shawn Henderson, and Jeff Yantis; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Alt Ray Grooms; parents who helped raise him, Jerry and Dora Henderson; two sisters, Helen Crenshaw and Norma Webb; brother, Alt “Bud” Grooms; and his dog, Cloey.
