Vincent Joseph Defilippo

Vincent Joseph DeFilippo, 78, of Alexandria, Ohio, passed away on October 30, 2024. He was

born on October 29, 1946 in Steubenville, Ohio.

He is survived by his wife, Leisa (Thompson), his children, Kathleen Novak and Ty (Angela) and

Brad (Nicole) Higgins, grandchildren Dominic Novak, Paige, Calvin, Alayna, William and Finn

Higgins, as well as countless loving family members and friends who will all miss him dearly.

Vince was preceded in death by his loving parents, Joseph and Angeline DeFilippo and his

brother, Carl DeFilippo and many aunts and uncles.

When he wasn’t coaching his kids’ sports team to championships, spending time with his church

family or sharing laughs with his closest friends, he was running his successful Nationwide

Insurance Agencies for over 30 years.

Throughout his life, Vince never met a stranger and became a trusted mentor to people who

were so easily drawn to him by his outgoing personality, sage wisdom and caring nature.

He found his strength through his relationship with Jesus and the unwavering support of his

ever-extended family and his positive attitude lifted the spirits of everyone who was lucky

enough to know him. The pleasure, as he said, was all yours.

Family will receive guests on Friday, November 1 from 4 to 7 p.m., followed by a service

on Saturday, November 2 at 9 a.m., at Summit Baptist Church in Pataskala and burial at Glen Rest

Memorial Estate in Reynoldsburg. The

service will also be streamed live at https://www.sbcohio.org/sermons

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Summit Baptist Church or Hospice of Central Ohio,

which both offered Vince comfort over his final days.

We find solace in knowing that Vince's life’s purpose was to make Jesus more famous and it

was his wish that everyone in his life would find salvation.
